KOMATSU Australia has released the largest dump-truck of its range, measuring 7m high and sporting tyres up to 4m in diameter.
The 327t capacity 960E-1 AC electric-drive truck is powered by a 2610kW engine. It is said to provide the lowest brake specific fuel consumption (BSFC) at rated horsepower for its class.
According to the company, the new model is designed for companies developing larger mines that are looking to increase size and productivity.
The 960E was tested in coal and copper mines for more than three years prior to its release.
The manufacturer says the vehicle allows for higher payloads and increased productivity. It also offers enhanced fuel economy and easier operation.
Loading tools matched to the dump truck include hydraulic shovels and excavators and large-volume electric rope shovels.
