Bearcat introduces Duratough Tyre Watch system for improved vehicle performance

BEARCAT Tyres has introduced the Duratough Tyre Watch system to the Australian mining industry.

The system comprises of tyre sensors that screw onto the valve stems of tyres and a monitor fitted in the cab.

The supplier says that destroyed tyres can greatly impact profitability, downtime and mine site safety. This is why on-board tyre pressure monitoring systems are now being widely used by the mining industry with very positive results.

Tyre monitoring systems provide real-time data; minimising risk and maximizing the ability to manage crucial areas of a business.

Bearcat says the pressure monitors are simple to install. Once installed, the sensors transmit a coded RF signal to alert a drop in pressure and the cab monitor displays each tyre's pressure reading and sends an audible alert if tyre pressure drops.

To support their major mining customers, Bearcat has supplied numerous sets of the Tyre Watch system free of charge to customers purchasing Duratough radial mining tyres, allowing them to recall valuable data.

Specific units are supplied depending on tyre valve type, power supply, operating voltage, vehicle type, vehicle length and the number of tyres.

According to Bearcat, the TPMS unit is ideally suited to applications involving long shifts, long haulage, underground mining or harsh conditions.
