Fuel-saving system slashes costs
Fuelsave says the system benefits miners by offering lower-cost alternatives FUELSAVE Australia has developed a fuel-saving system said to reduce engine wear and environmental emissions in diesel engines.
According to the company, the system enables operators to save up to 20% in fuel costs by switching to a combination of diesel and Liquid Propane Gas (LPG).
Already widely used in European heavy vehicles, the system is said to be equally effective on mining equipment, generators, compressors and fixed diesel installations.
The technology introduces a small amount of LPG into the vehicle’s engine via its airtake system. The gas then acts as a catalyst to improve the combustion process, ensuring the majority of diesel is burnt.
The system is said to deliver burn rates up to 98%, compared with 75% in existing systems.
Fuelsave says the system benefits miners by offering lower-cost alternatives at a time of “soaring diesel prices”.
